US patent granted to PamGene and Tony Bartlett joins as VP marketing

PamGene, a Dutch based biotech company, today announced that the USPO granted PamGene’s patent 6,225,131. This patent describes a new method for performing flow - through microarray testing. At the same time PamGene confirmed the appointment of Tony Bartlett as Vice President Marketing.

The 6,225,131 patent describes the basis of PamGene’s special metal-oxide-based three-dimensional microarray technology and is a cornerstone in the company’s emerging patent portfolio. PamGene’s researchers have been executing a focussed research program on the use of the flow - through incubation principle for almost 6 years. The 6,225,131 patent is an additional step that will enhance PamGene’s worldwide patent protection in the general field of flow - through applications in the coming years.

The appointment of Anthony John Bartlett (40) as Vice President Marketing was announced during the seminar "Biotechnology in The Netherlands". It was organized at the occasion of the official opening of the company's product development and manufacturing site in Den Bosch, The Netherlands, during May 2001.

Anthony Bartlett "I am inspired by PamGene's entrepreneurship, the growth prospects of the PamChip™ and the team of professionals it assembled in such a short period of time." Bartlett was the Affymetrix Sales Manager for Europe, who are currently the biggest players in the field of DNA microarray testing. Bartlett was responsible for the recent increase in placements of their microarray platforms within the European region over the last two years.
