Matched clinical trials
The Matching Medicines approach could be employed in a scenario where a physician is out of all approved treatment options and needs a novel approach for a particular patient. The physician now needs to create a new option based on the individual information of a patient.  In this situation, patients often receive either palliative care or may enrol in a clinical trial for an investigational therapy.

In many instances, physicians initiate studies to investigate the effectiveness of a medicine outside of the approved indication.  These types of investigator initiated trials often take place when there are limited therapeutic options for the cancer they are trying to treat.  These types of trials are usually phase I or II.  Ultimately, the matched clinical trials application could aid patient enrolment, as only patients with a PamInDx patient profile that indicates they are likely to respond would be included in the trial.  This may also lead to the improved statistical significance of a trial.
