Biomarkers are biochemical substances or patterns, detected in patient material such as tumour, blood and urine. Biomarker assessment such as gene or mutation detection (DNA), gene expression (RNA) or protein presence, provides diagnostic and prognostic information.
PamGene's biomarkers are different from other biomarkers in that they are protein phosphorylation patterns, a direct assessment of protein (kinase) activity and the effect of a drug (kinase inhibitor) on this activity. PamGene’s Matching Medicines approach measures the effect of the drug at this vital protein activity level and aims to increase the chances of successfully predicting the outcome of the chosen therapy. |
